The Pentagon has observed indications that Russia is moving troop reinforcements from “Georgia” to Ukraine to help its offensive in the Donbas region, a senior US defence official told reporters.

“We’ve noticed the first signs that they’re attempting to send reinforcements in from Georgia. A contingent of troops from Georgia has arrived in the United States. We can’t give you a precise figure since we don’t have one “In a press conference on Friday, the official stated.

Because there are no Russian forces in Georgia, the Pentagon spokesman did not define what he meant by “Georgia.” Sputnik’s enquiry to the Defense Department’s press office was not immediately answered.
