China, like Pakistan, has decided not to join India’s key regional security meeting on Afghanistan, which will take place on Wednesday in Delhi (November 10). China was invited to the ‘Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan,’ according to sources, but it has already stated that it will be unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts, while Pakistan has also decided to miss the event.

India will welcome security czars from Russia, Iran, and five Central Asian countries for a security dialogue on Afghanistan on Wednesday, following the Taliban’s seizure of Kabul. The goal is to establish a shared approach to practical collaboration in the fight against terrorism, radicalization, and drug trafficking, which are all on the rise.

Top security officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will participate in the debate, which will be hosted by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Doval will also meet with his counterparts from Russia and Iran.

According to the sources, all of the participating countries have a “very high degree of convergence” on the security consequences of the Taliban seizing power in Afghanistan, and the focus of the talk will be on practical collaboration to address the issue.
“All of the countries who are taking part in the event want to be a part of the solution. This is unlikely to be true in Pakistan “a source revealed

Terrorism, radicalization, drug trafficking, cross-border movement of people, and concerns posed by military weapons left behind by US forces, they added, will all be examined in depth at the forum.

The central Asian countries, according to the sources, are not prepared for any “ideological export” from Afghanistan. The security officials are likely to discuss cross-border migration of Afghans as well as the threat posed by military equipment and weaponry left behind by US forces in Afghanistan.

Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will all be represented by their respective National Security Advisors or Security Council Secretaries, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

China has expressed its willingness to maintain talks with India on Afghanistan through bilateral and multilateral channels, despite its absence from the conclave due to schedule issues, according to sources.

According to the sources, Pakistan had previously declined to attend prior editions of the NSAs conversation in Iran in 2018 and 2019, citing India’s participation.

The Taliban were not invited because India and other parties do not recognise Afghanistan’s present government, they claimed, adding that humanitarian issues would undoubtedly be discussed.

India’s commitment, according to the sources, is for the Afghan people.
